Hamburg is Stefan Malzkorn´s hometown. After having finished school he first decided for a carreer in the merchant´s navy. His travels brought him to Asia.
In 1986 he became a student of History at the university of Hamburg that allowed him to spend a student´s year in Great Britain at the university of Birmingham.
In 1990 while still being a student he started to take photographs in music-shows, leading to his first stand-alone exhibition in 1993.
In 1999 he received an invitation to show his work at Popkomm, Germany´s biggest music-fair. The exhibition was later shown at Bochum, Hamburg and Berlin.
Even today music - photography is playing a major role in a wide range spanning to feature- and portrait-work.
Stefan has three children.
